The first step is to fill out Sarah’s booking form. You must be 18+ to book and be tattooed at Clover & Thrush. Please include as much info as possible. If you are unsure how to answer a question, just leave it blank. Sarah will get back to you very soon!

  • Deposit

A deposit of $100 is required to hold your appointment and will be applied to the final cost of your tattoo. Your Appointment

Things to know before your appointment

What to bring to your appointment:

  • Valid State or Federally issued photo ID (a picture or photo copy will not work). Even if you have been tattooed at Clover & Thrush or by Sarah in the past, you still must have your ID.

  • Snacks. Ideally you should have a hearty meal at least 2 hours before your appointment but its still a good idea to bring some snacks.

  • Water Bottle. We have a water filter, so bring your water bottle with you for refilling. You should also try to be as hydrated as possible for a few days leading up to your tattoo appointment.

  • If you find it helpful to listen to music or an audiobook while getting tattooed, feel free to bring your head phones.

  • Can I bring a friend to my appointment? You may bring 1 friend but please be mindful that we are a small space with a limited waiting area. Out of respect for everyone, please leave all kids and pets at home. If you have a service dog, please give us a heads up before coming to your appointment so we can have space available for them.

‍What to wear to your appointment:

  • Its best to wear lose fitting and comfortable clothing - this isn’t the time to get dressed up.

  • Layers are best! Layers are great for getting tattooed for a few reasons. The area getting tattooed needs to be accessible. Having a few different layers of clothing can help that. When in doubt, bring a few extras just to be sure. Also, everyone’s bodies react differently to getting tattooed! Some bodies get hot, some get cold. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your appointment.

  • Wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy. Between the stencil ink and the normal fluids your body produces when getting tattooed, you could end up with something on your clothes.

Aftercare Instructions for Healing Your New Tattoo

Always wash your hands before touching or applying location to your tattoo!

First Day Care:

*Remove your bandage 3-4 hours after being tattooed. Wash your hands first, remove the bandage, and do not re-bandage it. If the bandage feels stuck while removing it, soak it in warm water, which will help it slide off. Wash your tattoo with warm water and unscented soap.

*Only wash your tattoo using your finger tips or palm of hand

*Pat dry with paper towels and then apply a very, very small amount of A&D ointment

2-3 Days After

*Wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day. Pat dry and apply a very, very small amount of ointment after each wash

* Stop using A&D after day 3

Next 2-3 weeks

*Continue to wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day and apply a small amount of lotion after.

More tips for healing your tattoo

  • Wear loose fitted clothing while your tattoo is healing, and try to keep your tattoo irritation-free. Keep your tattoo open to the air as much as possible.

  • Keep your tattoo away from dirty environments and/or pets.

Other Important Things To Know

  • Over the first few days, your tattoo may release a small amount of body fluid or plasma directly after applying the A&D or hand lotion. This is normal and should stop after a few days.

  • During the first week of healing, it is normal for your tattoo to itch, look like a sunburn, peel, or scab. Do not scratch, pick, or peel your tattoo!

  • For relief from an itchy tattoo, wash it and apply moisturizer.

  • We repeat - Do not scratch, pick, or peel your tattoo!

  • Avoid swimming, baths, hot tubs, saunas and sunbathing until the skin has healed (at least 3-4 weeks). Showers are ok, but never let your tattoo soak in water while it is healing. Promptly pat it dry with a clean paper towel immediately after getting out of the shower.

  • Do not apply sunscreen to your tattoo until it is fully healed. Once it’s fully healed, use sunscreen to prevent sun damage and fading.
